Welcome to Dr Vintage !

The purpose of the site is to give YOU the opportunity to fix vintage hardware by asking for help from the other members of the community, or share your experience thus helping others, this may be by helping with diagnosis, procedure or even giving some useful tips !

See that old Commodore 64, that broken Atari ST, or even that dead monitor … Can you put them back into operation? Do you want to do it yourself….Yes? Well let’s get started, you may not find the answer right away but maybe someone has asked your question before, already knows the answer, will join next week and will have the answers or have an idea that’ll help you diagnose or even fix it!

That’s what the community is about : fixing and helping restore those old loved machines, whatever they are as long as we think they deserve it and we want to do it !

I believe a large forum is probably the best way to organize and keep track of the knowledge we share all together in one place. So here we go !! 🙂

Be warned : many things here have to do with electronics, and also with electricity. You MUST know what you are doing in terms of security and personal safety while handling such things, and take all the required precautions before you try to fix or even just open something that might be dangerous and potentially lethal. Please be careful, if you’re not sure about how to do it , don’t do it. The responsibility is ultimately up to you.

You can now reach the heart of the community through the forum link at the top of this page.

Enjoy !

Mat
